Our key objectives are to receive, treat and transport contract waste in accordance with the targets and service requirements set out in the Service Level Agreement made between Lancashire Renewables Ltd and its majority shareholder, Lancashire County Council.

Why we were established

Lancashire Renewables Ltd was established for the operation and management of the two waste treatment facilities built for the Lancashire Waste Contract.

Types of waste

The contract waste that we receive includes residual (“black bin bag”) waste as well as kerbside-collected recycling materials.

Manned 365 days a year

Our two facilities in Thornton and Leyland are manned 365 days a year. Both sites can process over 5,000 tonnes of residual (“black bin bag”) waste per week and divert 95% of this material away from landfill.
